Drama & Theatre can have such a profound influence on us in our everyday lives, changing the way we think and feel and exposing issues and challenging opinion. During this course you will have the opportunity to develop your creative and exploratory skills in devising your own original performance and learning how text can be manipulated to communicate meaning to an audience.
You will also develop and demonstrate theatre-making skills, appropriate to your role as a performer. You will explore how to realise artistic intentions in performance and will develop this knowledge and understanding through the study of key extracts of text.

The study of Drama and Theatre at A level can help students with a variety of skills as well as develop their creative career aspirations. Students who study this course will enhance their skills in creative thinking, teamwork, analysis, presentation skills, planning etc. The course support students wishing to improve their communication skills in both verbal and written forms. Students can progress from this course in to a number of career areas either by further study or by direct entry to the job market.
Through your study of Drama and Theatre you will develop many of the transferable skills which will enable you to face the demands of further and higher education, as well as the demands of the workplace including problem-solving, critical thinking, communication, relationship-building, adaptability, self-management and self-development as well as ICT literacy.Many of our students go on to further study at University and follow careers in the Entertainment industry in both performance and production as well as careers in public relations and advocacy.
